Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes and significance of serum soluble intercellular molecule-1(sICAM-1)in children with anaphylactoid purpura.Methods The level of serum sICAM-1 in 63 cases of children with anaphylactoid purpura,including 41 cases with purpura nephritis,and 24 normal children were tested by ELISA.At the same time,the correlation between sICAM-1 and purpura nephritis was studied.Results The means of sICAM-1 concentration in children with anaphylactoid purpura was higher than those of normal children and the level of sICAM-1 decreased significantly after treatment.However,the levels sICAM-1 in those patients with nephritis were higher than those of control group,whereas the level of sICAM-1 in patients without nephritis approach the control.Conclusion ICAM-1 may participate in the pathophysiologic progress through inflammatory mechanism,sICAM-1 may be a factor in the development of purpura nephritis.
