Abstract

AbstrcatAfter the September 18th Incident, Zhang Junmai regarded nationalism as the foundation of all our efforts to build the country, stressed to develop the national ideology and emphasized the significance of cultivating the consciousness of nationalism. He laid stress on the function of the independent academic creation in the national rejuvenation, fought against the westernized ideology, and advocated the independent right of thinking. By comparing the Indian culture and European culture with Chinese culture, he tries to explore the way for the Chinese culture in the future. He believes that the way out for the Chinese culture is neither westernization nor restoration of the ancient ways. The new trend of Chinese culture in the future should take the national culture based on the spiritual freedom as the general principle of the Chinese culture in the future.
