A Research on the Mental Health of Freshmen

An investigation into the mental health of college freshmen in Grade 08 at Guiyang College,by using UPI,shows that 49% of them have psychological problems to different degrees,manifested in their tendency of depression,instability of emotions,lack of confidence,poor interpersonal relations.The overall difference of mental health situation between boy students and girl students is not obvious.The mental health of those coming from cities is better than those from rural areas.There exists an obvious difference of mental health situation between students of different majors.A deep analysis is made on the information gathered in the investigation and some measures to improve the mental health conditions are suggested.
