Study on Anaerobic Treatment Experiment of Fumarate Wastewater

Abstract

[Objective]The aim was to explore the feasibility of fumarate wastewater treatment by anaerobic biological treatment.[Method] The original wastewater was diluted to a certain concn.by stages and its pH value adjusted,then it was sent to the anaerobic reactor by peristaltic pump to biologically treat,then the effluent was recycled and reached the reactor,the chemical oxygen demand(COD) and pH of the effluent in the different reaction times were detected.[Result]During the sludge acclimation stage,the concn.of the influent COD was 1 564 mg/L and after continuous operation for 48 h,the removal rate of the COD could reach about 81%;at the stages of increasing load and stable operation,the concn.of the influent COD was 10 377 mg/L after continuous operation for 32 h,the removal rate of the COD could reach about 60%,which showed the anaerobic reactor had good effect on the treatment for this kind of high concn.of organic wastewater such as fumarate.[Conclusion]The research provided the basis for the industrial wastewater treatment.
