Abstract

Two?step anaerobic process was adopted to treat high concentration methanol wastewater, which could enhance the effect of the reactor, strengthen its operation stability and improve its ability of resisting shock loading. The results of full?scale trial showed that the volumetric loading rate of the integrated two?step anaerobic reactor was above 21.3 kgCOD·m -3 d -1 and its gas?producing rate was about 0.45 m 3per kg of removal COD at the normal state. Although the influent loading of the reactor changed strongly, the COD removal was about 95% and its effluent COD was always between 200~500 mg·L -1 .
