Analysis of Citations in Journal of Xiaogan University (Natural Science Edition)

Using the principle and method of literature metrology,we made a quantitative analysis of citation quantity,citation types,citation languages and citation time of Journal of Xiaogan University(Natural Science Edition). The results indicated that ten issues of the journal published 287 thesis,among them 249 thesis had citated references and the percentage of citation was 89.6%. The total citated references were 1244,and the average number of citation per thesis was 4.47. Periodicals were the main references,accounting for 56.03% of the total references, while the percentages of books and other types of references were 37.86%,6.19%, respectively. As to the citation languages,Chinese was the main citation language. It accounted for 79.5% of the total citation,while the percentage of foreign languages citation was 20.5%. The Price index was 37.22%.
