Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effects of modified MAZE procedure using irrigated radiofrequency to treat the atrial fibrillation.Methods The retrospective analysis was used for 15 cases with the atrial fibrillation who were treated by modified MAZE procedure using irrigated radiofrequency during concomitant open heart surgeries.Results There were no Ⅲ°trial ventricular block, cardiac perforation and death in the 15 patients. After the operation, 14 patients with atrial fibrillation were rebounded to sinus rhythm and 1 patient remained the atrial fibrillation.Conclusion The modified MAZE procedure using irrigated radiofrequency is an effective method to treat the atrial fibrillation.
