Effect of Replacing Antibiotics with Chinese Herbal on Production Performance and Immune Function of Growing-finishing Pigs

To study the availability and the optimal quantity of Chinese herb feed additive substituting antibiotics of the basic diet on growing-finishing pigs,120 pigs(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire) with about 15kg body weight were randomly assigned into 4 groups.The control group was fed basic diet added antibiotics.Group Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ(trial groups) were fed basal diet added 0.1%,0.2%,0.4% Chinese herb feed additive.The results showed that the level of 0.2% Chinese herb feed additive was the best.Compared with the control group,the average daily gain increased by 1.45%,feed-gain ratio decreased by 0.41%(P0.05);The content of IgG,IgM,IgA,C3 and C4 in serum of tested pigs increased by 20.55%,16.78%,13.69%,15.56% and 15.60% respectively(P0.05).The results indicated that 0.2% Chinese herb feed additive added to basic diet could both improve growth and immunity of growing-finishing pigs.
