Abstract
Confucius and Mencius have no special works on poetry,their poetic thought are mainly embodied in their brief critics to the Book of Song in Analects and Mencius.We kow the nuclear thought of Confucius and Mencius is how to be a cultivation of moral,which decides the Book of Song is only a tool of becoming cultivation of moral,and also decides our true understanding of Confucius' and Mencius' poetry must be estabished on cultivation of moral.
