Abstract

The smart mine can detect and localize the targets in the air by sensing and processing the noise of them. The sensor array is the tool that the smart mine uses to sense the sound. Its structure plays a key role in the localization algorithm and precision. Now there are three mainly used array structures: four-element planar array, four-element tridimensional array and five-element tridimensional array. After the analysis of the errors that affect the localization precision, this paper puts forward a comparison of the simulations of the capability of the three arrays considering the errors synthetically. The result shows that there is an improvement in the precision of pitch angle estimation when choosing the tridimensional array not the planar array. The tridimension array also shows better performance when detection is affected by wind and setting error than planar array. It have better capability than planar array.
