Abstract
Objective To study the distribution characteristics and ultrastructural changes of residual cochlera spiral ganlion cells after blast exposure. Methods Guinea pig ear blast injury models were made. The cochlear spiral ganlion cell counting and ultrastructural observation were carried out in two groups of animals after 3d and 21d of blast exposure. Results The number of spiral ganlion cells in blast group was less than that in normal control group after 2Id of blast exposure. Significant mito-chondria swollen was observed after 3d of blast exposure and abnormal mitochondria was still observed after 21d of blast exposure. There was no abnormality in normal control group. Conclusions After blast exposure. there were ultrastructural as well as reduction of the number of cochlear spiral ganlion cells in the experimental animals.
