Abstract
Lakoff and Johnson(1980) state,metaphor is a basic human thinking way or cognitive process.This paper intends to offer some implications of conceptual metaphor theory for vocabulary teaching through the applications of this theory to vocabulary teaching and learning in analyzing polysemy,idioms and words connection.
