Effect of CD44v6 and E-cadherin on invasion,metastasis of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Abstract
【Objective】 To investigate the expressions of CD44v6 and E-cadherin in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.【Methods】 The expressions of CD44v6 and E-cadherin were observed using immunohistochemical methods in 91 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 10 cases of normal esophageal tissues.【Results】(1) The positive expression rate of CD44v6 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was higher than that in normal esophageal tissues(P0.05);the positive expression rate of E-cadherin in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was lower than that in normal esophageal carcinoma(P0.05).(2)Over expressions of CD44v6 and less expressions of E-cadherin were positively related with invasion degree,lymphatic metastasis and clinical stages(P0.05).(3) The expressions of CD44v6 was negatively related to that of E-cadherin(r=-0.545,P0.01).【Conclusion】 CD44v6 and E-cadherin may play a crucial role in the invasion degree,lymphatic metastasis and clinical stages in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
