Abstract
To evaluate the effectiveness of rabies vaccine(PV2061)strain,an experiment was carried out. Before challenge experiments, the dogs in this research were vaccinated with 1 mL,0.5 ml or 0.25 mL PV2061 strain. Results showed that the sera of dogs in 1ml and 0.5ml groups were seroconverted and developed a high antibody response to rabies virus. And all of the dogs in the two groups were completely protected against rabies virus challenge. The dogs in the 0.25 mL group developed a lower antibody response, and only 40% of the dogs survived after challenge. In summary, the present study show that the 0.5 mL or 0.25 mL of PV2061 strain can both protect dogs from challenge. The results suggest that the PV2061 strain is an effective vaccine.
