Abstract
Involute helical gear is a transmission part which used in machinery equipments, but its shape is complicated, and the traditional modeling of the gear is heavy workload. The research introduces the methodologies and steps of exact modeling by using 3D parametric design function for the standard involute helical gears under the environment of Pro/E.The method is based on principle, using equation to build up the involute, and consequently we can ensure the accuracy of the involute gear shape. The designers can carry out quick modeling of various modulus and teeth number by only changing the relevant parameters and relational expressions. Then the design efficiency was raised.
