SERMYLOIDES PILIFERA, A NEW SPECIES FROM CHINA (COLEO- PTERA: CHRYSOMELIDAE, GALERUCINAE)

In this paper,a new species of Galerucinae is described from China.The type specimens are kept in the Institute of Zoology,Academia Sinica (holotype and allotype) and the Insect Collection of Beijing Agricultural University (paratypes 1-1) respectively.Sermyloides pilifera sp.nov.General color yellowish brown.Antennae,tibiae,tarsi,apex of the posterior femora and the frontal fossa dark.Ah I shaped protuberance in the middle of the frontal fossa,a pair of hairy streaks and 6 long pale hairs on each side.Antennae extending to apex of body.Both the first and third segments antennae flat,the tthird is the longest,and with a crescent shaped concavity at the apex.Prothorax twice as broad as long.Scutellum trianglar,apex acute.Elytra parallel-sid-ed,closely punctate.Underside yellowish brown,covered with fine hairs.Frontal fossa of head differing from that of the male;antennae shorter than the body,the third segment not concave apically.Length,5.6mm,5.5mm;breadth,3mm,3.2mm.The character of the frontal fossa different from all the other species of the genus.Holotype Guangxi Zhuang Automous Region,Jinxiu County,Dayao Mount.15,Ⅴ.1982;allotype,ditto;paratypes,1 ditto;1 Jinxiu County,11,Ⅵ.1982.
