Insights into English Listening Procedure from Schema Theory

Abstract
Based on schema theory,this paper analyzes the interaction between bottom-up top-down processing and also discusses the application of schema theory in listening comprehension procedure from the aspect of cognitive psychology.From schema theory,it probes the insights into English listening procedure.The insights show that 1) bottom-up processing can help the listener expound the obtained information with language schema;2) top-down processing can help the listener understand the obtained information with language knowledge.
