Pattern of World Men's Basketball and the Situation Chinese Men's Basketball Team to be Faced with in 2008 Olympic Games

With the methods of literaturary review,expert interview and mathematical statistics,this thesis analyses the intercontinental distribution of eight master basketball teams in all past World Basketball Championships and combines every teams'display of the 15th World Basketball Championship.It points out that the present situation of world basketball development is that basketball teams in Europe and America are still in the lead,European teams move upward obviously,and African teams develop fast,but Asian teams still develop slowly.By the analysis of the strength between Chinese team and every group team,it finds out that Chinese team's strenth is far away from the first group teams,so it is impossible to win.To contrast with second group teams,there is a disparity between them,but it is possible to win if Chinese team want to bring its force into full play.To contrast with the third group teams,it has a certain superioriority,but the opponent's strength can't be ignored.Therefore,if Chinese team can get the historic breaking in 2008 Olympic Games,it needs to bring self-superior force into full play which is based on the group superiority so that it will try its best to solve the problem thoroughly which was exposed in World Basketball Championships.
