Abstract
Basically Shen Yiguan examined and judged Zhuangzi from the Confucian viewpoint as well as from social reality,which was a most conspicuous characteristic in his notation of Zhuangzi and which provided a new visual angle to explicate Zhuangzi in the history of Zhuangzi studies.Aiming at two major abuses of Zhuangzi,Shen paid attention to unifying inactivity with activity,and individual perception with social rationality,and with respect to the relationship between the latter,he furthe consummated the idealist philosophy of confucian school of the Song and Ming dynasties,admitting;promoting and enriching the reasonability of human thought material desire.These are of real and progressive significance.Shen's Zhuang studies deserve some position in the history of Zhuang studies as well as in the ideological history of China.
