Abstract

Objective:To investigate the relationship between morning blood pressure surge and age,sex in hypertensive patients. Method: Through ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, the characteristics of morning blood pressure in 1100 hypertensive patients were analyzed. Results:① Morning systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),pulse pressure(PP) , mean arterial pressure(MBP) in patients with morning blood pressure surge were higher than that in those without moming blood pressure surge (P 0. 01). The value of morning blood pressure surge correlated with age (r=0.061,P0. 05 ).② In patients with morning blood pressure surge with the age increasing, morning SBP and PP increased, and morning DBP decreased(P 0. 01-0. 001) . Compared with the male patients, morning DBP and MAP were lower but morning PP were higher than that in the females (P 0.01). Conclusion:Morning blood pressure surge correlated with age and sex in hypertensive patients.
