Abstract
Shafting is the important integral part of marine power plant,which transfers the power from main engine to propeller,axial thrust can be produced and transferred to the vessel hull accordingly,in that way, the vessel can be sailing based on the thrust. So the installation quality of shafting will effect directly the reliability of main propulsion system and safety of vessel sailing. The paper summarizes how to find and confirm the shafting theory centerline combined the two ways of stayguy and observation,and also introduces the moulding of stern shaft by chock fast,installation and adjustment of shafting.
