Abstract

In order to understand the effects of salt stress on the seed germination of R. hybrida, the salt tolerance of Rudbeckia hybrida seeds were tested under four salt solutions(0 mmol/L,50 mmol/L,100 mmol/L,150 mmol/L)to research the effect of salt stress on germination rate, germination potential and germination index of Rudbeckia hybrida seeds. The results showed that the germination rate, germination potential and germination index significantly decreased than the control with the increasing of salt concentration. When the Na HCO3 and Na Cl concentration were up to 150 mmol/L,the germination potential were 0.The sodium salts were Na2CO3,Na HCO3,Na Cl,respectively, based on salt injury rates of seed germination from high to low, under the same concentrations of sodium salts solutions. The radicle and germ had different response to the salts. The salt at higher concentrations could inhibit the growth of radicle.
