Abstract
The methods for the sediment reduction operation of reservoir on sediment-laden river are studied herein mainly based on the Yellow River.Taking Qingtongxia,Sanmenxia,Wanjiazhai and Xiaolangdi reservoirs located at different silting stages of the Yellow River as the studying cases,the sediment reduction operations with the modes of lower-water level desilting and density flow desilting for the reservoirs located at different silting stages on sediment-laden rivers are compared;and then a study on the optimized desilting operation is made through the application of the adaptable model and method concerned and the more feasible study methods for the optimized sediment reduction operations of those large water control projects on the sediment-laden rivers are summarized with the proposal on the two main modes of the desilting operation.
