Abstract
Based on the characteristics of the sediment-laden rivers,i.e.less water with more sediment and the heavy sedimentation is mostly concentrated in flood season,a self-calibration desilting operation mode for the reservoirs on the sediment-laden rivers is put forward herein. For this mode, the condition after the operation of reservoir is determined with a one-dimensional flow and sediment model.Taking the designed water supply and the remained reservoir storage as the targets, the trace tracking of both the water supply and the remained reservoir storage are realized by means of correcting the reservoir operation parameters in time according to the water and sediment inflow condition, and then, not only the desilting capacity of the reservoir is satisfied, the target of the maximum water impoundment can also be got. Finally, the mode is applied to the controlled operation of Tingkou Reservoir in Shaanxi Province;form which the result shows that the water and sediment inflow condition of the reservoir can be better adapted by the operation mode and the remained reservoir storage can be enhanced as much as possible under the condition to ensure the water supply concerned, therefore,it can be taken as a reference for the related sectors as well.
