Surgical Treatment of Inferior Polar Fracture of Patella by U-Silk Suture Combined With Circular Wire Fixation And 8-Shaped Tension Band Fixation

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of surgical treatment of inferior polar fracture of patella by U-silk suture combined with circular wire fixation and 8-shaped tension band fixation.Methods The treatment group consisted of 29 patients,who were treated by U-silk suture in conjunction with circular wire fixation and 8-shaped tension band fixation.The control group consisted of 30 patients,who were treated by circular wire fixation and 8-shaped tension band fixation.Both were given plaster fixation and evaluated for clinical efficacy 2 to 6 weeks after surgical treatment.Results Both groups were followed up for 24 to 72 weeks after surgery,with an average of 36 weeks.All fractures healed and the excellent rate was 93.10% and 73.33% in the treatment group and control group respectively.There was significant difference in curative effect between the two groups(P﹤0.05).Conclusions The method of U silk suture combined with circular wire fixation and 8 tension band fixation is effective for inferior polar fracture of patella and feasible in clinical application.
