Three-dimensional Iimages of Malar Bone in Human Adults

Objective:To identify the normal cheekbone aesthetic location in human adults.Method:100 adults(male 50,female 50) over 17 years old were included in this study.Three vertical distances were measured:①Zygomatic process point to the planar,which consists of Sella Bigen Center and the former nose of the plane spike points(NS-ANS plane)(D1);②Zygomatic process point to the planar,which consists of bilateral ear canal on the edge of the process point and the point of the plane Bigen(RP-N-LP)(D2);③Zygomatic process to the planar,which consists of the bilateral ear canal point margin of the most sudden and Sella central component of the plane(RP-S-LP)(D3).Results:The vertical distances in male: the maximum of D1 was 97.65 mm,the minimum of D1 was 49.71 mm,the mean of D1 was 76.30 mm;the maximum of D2 was 89.17 mm,the minimum of D2 was 76.30 mm,the mean of D2 was 79.32 mm;the maximum of D3 was 53.92 mm,the minimum of D3 was 22.32 mm,the mean of D3 was 32.77 mm.The vertical distances in female:the maximum of D1 was 87.62 mm,the minimum was 38.44 mm,the average was 69.70 mm;the maximum of D2 was 77.81 mm,the minimum of D2 was 46.28 mm,the average of D2 was 64.52 mm;the maximum of D3 was 46.37 mm,the minimum of D3 was 18.72 mm,the average of D3 was 28.48 mm.The vertical distances of D1,D2,D3 in both men and women existed significant difference (0.01P0.05).Conclusion:These findings may be benefit to better understand maxillofacial region for esthetic perspectives,and also as an academic elements for cheekbone reconstructive surgery.
