Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation(SIMV)combined with pressure support(PS)in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods 92cases of patients with COPD were randomly divided into two groups.Two groups of patients were given infection therapy,the primary disease therapy,nutritional therapy and other conventional therapy.The control group(42cases)underwent SIMV, the observation group(50cases)underwent SIMV + PS.Results The difference of two groups of respiratory rate, tidal volume,minute ventilation,peak inspiratory pressure(PIP),arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCO2),arterial oxygen pressure(PaO2),arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2),pH value was not statistically significant(P 0.05).Total ventilation time,ICU stay and offline time in observation group was(13±9)d,(15±10)d,(60±5)h, significantly shorter than those of the control group of(21±11)d,(22±8)d,(73±8)h(P0.05).Observation group offline success rate was 92.0%,significantly higher than the 73.8%in control group(P0.05).ConclusionSIMV + PS ventilation mode can accelerate offline,reducing COPD patients on ventilator dependency,which will help the patient a speedy recovery.
