Major Factors Affecting the Teaching Quality in Higher Education and the Countermeasures

There are many factors affecting the teaching quality in our higher education: inadequate teaching funds,long-standing mistaken concept of some leaders,overemphasis on school scales rather than quality,lack of specialized teachers in college,the overall poor quality of the teaching stuff,the expanding enrollment,the decline of the students' quality,the failure of matching the teaching facilities with the increasingly large number of students,the backwardness of teaching management,the slacken quality consciousness,the incompletion of quality guarantee and assessment systems.To improve the teaching quality of higher education,we need to enlarge the inputs of investment and fund,renew the creative concept,give a high priority to the improvement of teaching quality,of which teachers' quality is of vital importance.Another emphasis should be laid on students' management.A scientific system of assessment is especially needed,also the international exchange and communication should be reinforced,because they can further the progress of the teaching quality.
