Verification Study for 3T3 Neutral Red Uptake Phototoxicity Test

Abstract

Objective To verify the feasibility of application of 3T3 neutral Red uptake in phototoxicity.Methods Two kinds of unknown chemical were dispensed into the culture media of Balb/c 3T3 cells.Then the viability of Balb/c 3T3 cells was assessed by neutral red uptake test.Results A positive result was obtained with sample 1,while a negative result was obtained with sample 2.Conclusion It is suggested that in vitro 3T3 neutral Red uptake test can be used to assess the phototoxic effects of chemical.
