Abstract

Objective To study the renal histological characteristics of isolated hematuria in children. Methods 37 children with isolated hematuria were performed renal biopsy. All biopsies were examined by light microscopy, electron microscopy and immunofluorescence. Results In this servies, the most common histological changes of isolated hematuria were as follows:13 cases of mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis,9 cases of minor glomerular abnormalities,8 cases of IgA nephropathy,4 cases of IgM nephropathy and 3 cases of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. Conclusion Mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis is the most common pathological changes in isolated hematuria, followed by minor glomerular abnormalities and IgA nephropathy.
