Abstract
Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Nateglinide in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods:40 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus meeting were given Nateglinide treatment, patients were given each 120 mg of Nateglinide per oral 15 min before each meal.A supplementary does was administered before and additional meal.If a meal was missed, the corresponding dose was omitted.Fasting blood glucose 2 h postprandial blood glucose(P2hBG) were determined fortnightly. The dose of Nateglinide was increased to 240 mg before each meal if blood glucose had not been well controlled. The observation last 12 weeks.Levels of blood lipid, glucose and insulin before and after the treatment were compared. Results:A remarkable fall in the levels of fasting and 2 h postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin and triglycerides was demonstrated(P0.01) after the treatment. In the meantime, the level of 2 h postprandial insulin rose significantly(P0.05).Conclusion:Nateglinide is an effective remedy in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The incidence of adverse reactions including hypoglycemic is low.It may improve the diabetes' compliance with treatment.
