Abstract
After the founding of new China,the images of Yi women were used to dominate by powerful discourse.In the other cultures view,the autrui image of Yi is always represented by women,Yi women in colorful costumes tend to become the expressive themes by art,literature and the modern media.Yi women as the fusion body of backward countryside characteristic and vitality are displayed incisively and vividly in contemporary China.In this context,Yi women became the ethnical marks and carrying multiple meanings,which becomes the symbol of the nationality contrasted with modernity.
