Introduction experiments of poplar in the Dongting Lake area

Abstract
Experiments on introducing poplar were based on 170 poplar clone seedling stages and choosing 56 clone stages in 3 times in contrast experiments,and the volume increment of 4 or 5 years poplar.The zhongzhu 6,zhongqian 3, NL80121, six southern poplar clone varieties and zhonghan17 clone variety were found to be superior varieties for plantation in lake area.Experiments included testing and contrasting early rapid growth characters of 5 new poplar varieties.
