Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficiency of vitrectomy for posterior segment intraocular foreign bodies and retinal detachment. Methods Three incision vitrectomy with intraocular foreign bodies extraction and retinal reattachment,endophotocoagulation,C_3F_8 intraocular injection and silicone oil tamponade,et al. Results Intraocular foreign bodies were extracted by one time in 26 cases, among them 84.59% patients had complete retinal reattachment in 22 cases.Different visual acuity improved in 19 cases,up to 0.5 in 2 cases and to 0.6 in one case. Conclusions Vitrectomy for posterior segment intraocular foreign bodies combining with retinal detachment has many advantages:accurate, safety, less injury, high extraction rate and avoiding traumatic proliferative vitreoretinopathy,et al.
