Abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in the treatment of solid tumor. Thirty patients were treated by HIFU. Before and after HIFU treatment, the vital organ signs, funcation of important organs, imaging, histopathology and complications were evaluated. During and after HIFU procedure, the vital signs remained stable. There was no adjacent tissue damage outside targeted areas. Eighteen cases ammg all the cases had pain before the treatment, and after the treatment of HIFU, the pain was significantly relieved in 4 cases and relieved in 8 cases, and the total effective rate was 65.6%(12/18). Four cases had sychnuria and urgencultrasound, and after the treatment of HIFU, there were 2 cases responsed. Anus bearing-down was in 8 cases, and 3 cases were effective. Dyschesia was in 2 cases, and 1 case was effective. Echo of carcinoma tissue was enhanced in all the patients, and the tumor size had no significant change. The coagulative necrosis of tissue in the targeted areas was seen in 3 cases. In conclusion, the treatment of tumor with HIFU is safe and effective, and it is worth of further clinical trial.
