Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of HIFU treatment for PVTT and.Method Tumor thromboses from 16cases of end-sage hepatic cancer with PVTT were treated by HIFU in the main and or second branches of portal veins. After Treatment,Those changes were observed such as blood flow of tumor thrombosis in the branches of portal veins;tumor thromboses' echoes and their decrement;patients'liver function, ascites and life quality improvement. Results Before treatment,PVTTs from 16 cases showed hypoechoic or isoechoic. After treatment,PVTTs from 10 cases showed mesoechoic or hyperechoic and were disappeared;PVTTs in another 4 cases were partly disappeared;PVTTs in 2 case were unchanged and partly disappeared by another HIFU treatment.Patients' liver function, ascites and life quality were improved in different way. Conclusion HIFU therapy was safe, less pain and definitely effective. It could be a new method for treating most PVTTs.
