Study on egg quality and the correlation between the traits of Mawang domestic duck eggs with different eggshell color

To provide a reference for improving the duck egg quality and duck breeding,sixty eggs from Mawang domestic ducks,were used to detect and analyze the egg qualify traits,such as egg weight,eggshell color,egg shape index,shell strength,Haugh unit,egg yolk color,shell thickness,yolk weight,yolk weight ratio.The results showed that the indices of egg quality of Mawang duck eggs were excellent except egg weight in the lower level.Through correlation analysis among egg quality traits of Mawang duck eggs,the results showed that there was a highly significant or significant positive correlation among egg weight,yolk weight,and egg yolk color,respectively;and the correlation coefficients were 0.575(P0.01) and 0.344(P0.05),respectively;there was a highly significant positive correlation between yolk weight and yolk weight ratio,and the correlation coefficient was 0.713(P0.01);there was a significant positive correlation between shell strength and shell thickness,and the correlation coefficient was 0.380(P0.01);there were no significant or highly significant correlations among the correlation coefficients of other parameters.There were no significant differences in egg weight,Haugh unit,egg yolk color,yolk weight,yolk weight ratio,egg shape index,shell strength,and shell thickness of the duck eggs with three different eggshell colors.
