Study on the Egg Qualities of Mallard Duck

The egg qualities of mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos) were studied.The results indicated that the average egg weight was 55.74 g, the egg shape index was 1.32, the thickness of egg shell was 0.31 mm,the density was 1.075 g/cm 3,the Haugh unit was 79.82,the ratio of egg yolk, egg shell and egg white weight to egg weight were 40.02%,10.14% and 49.84% respectively, the mass fraction of crude protein in egg yolk and egg white (dry weigh) were 19.09% and 11.20% respectively.The correlation analysis suggested that between the density and the shell thickness there was very significant positive correlation.
