Abstract

Objective To explore the method and the effect of radiofrequency thermocoagulation with CT location for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia of the first and second branches. Methods Oval foramen was punctured with the help of localization cage and under the guidance of CT localization. Firstly local anesthesia was applied, then thermocoagulation temperatures for the first and second branchs were performed at 65℃、67℃for 60 s and 70℃、75℃for 2-3 min respectively. Results Pain was fully eliminated in 13 cases after operation. There were no recurrence during the follow-up period of 3-16 months. Conclusion Radiofrequency thermocoagulation with CT location for treatment of trigeminal neuralgia of the first and second branches is a safe and effective method.
