Abstract
The capabilities of bioaugmentation process and bioferric process for enhancing wastewater treatment by oil-refinery wastewater treatment device were investigated through production experiments. The results indicate that the removal rate of COD is increased by 16.7% using bioaugmentation process, while that is increased by 9.8% using bioferric process. The impact resistance of oil-refinery wastewater treatment device can be increased by both bioaugmentation process and bioferric process, but the bioaugmentation process has better resistance to hydraulic load impact. The sludge settleability can be improved by the two processes. The SVI is 70 to 74 mL/g when using the bioaugmentation process, and the SVI is 96 to 105 mL/g when using the bioferric process, showing the bioaugmentation process has better sludge settleability and richer sludge biofacies.Although with better efficiency in improving the capability of the oil-refinery wastewater treatment device, the bioaugmentation process has higher operation cost. The simultaneous use of the two processes is helpful to decrease the operation cost.
