Abstract
The bioaugmentation technology was applied to treat the pure terephthalic acid(PTA) wastewater in pilot test of activated sludge process, and the treatment efficiency was compared with that by the original treatment system. The results show that compared with the original treatment system,COD removal rate, shock resistance and sludge settleability of the pilot test setup are significantly improved by adding bioaugmentation fungus. The quantity and species of microorganisms are increased significantly, and the treatment ability of PTA wastewater is promoted.
