Abstract
Objective:To investigate the use of MRI and its clinical value in staging cervical carcinoma, and to evaluate the advantages of using MRI in the preoperative staging of cervical carcinoma. Methods:Based on the retrospective analysis of the 61 patients with cervical carcinoma who underwent the complete MRI examination as well as the clinical data, along with referring to the FIGO staging sandards, this thesis,by using the double-blind technique, achieved the clinical analysis and the MRI staging before the operation, and made a comparison between MRI staging clinical staging, and pathologic staging. Results:The accuracy, specificty and sensitivty achieved by MRI in staging cervical carcinoma were 85.2%,89.7% and 95.1%,respectively.The accuracy of the clinical staging of cervical carcinoma was 63.9%.Conclusion:According to this thesis, the accuracy of MRI for cervical carcinoma excels the one for clinical staging, especially in the aspect of detecting the uterine corpus, parametrial ivasion and pelviclymph node metastasis. It is suggested that MRI should be regarded as aconventional examination for patients with cervical carcinoma.
