Abstract

A sample of 370 middle school students(215 males,155 females) of Han in Shandong was investigated on 5 tongue moving types, including tongue rolling, tongue folding, tongue twisting, pointed tongue and clover-leaf tongue. The results were as follows:(1) The frequencies of tongue rolling, tongue folding, tongue twisting, pointed tongue and clover-leaf tongue were 76.49%,8.38%,23.78%,69.73% and 3.24% respectively.(2) Compared with other ethnic groups, the tongue rolling of Han in Shandong had a higher frequency. The tongue folding and tongue twisting had middle frequencies. The pointed tongue had a lower frequency, but there was the lowest frequency in clover-leaf tongue.(3) No significant sexual difference was found in the frequencies of four tongue moving types, except pointed tongue.(4) Correlations were little among 5 tongue moving types. The gene of tongue folding had interactive relations with the tongue twisting gene, and there were gene interactions between pointed tongue and clover-leaf tongue.(5) The results of cluster analysis showed that the tongue moving types of Han in Shandong were similar with those of Han(Alxa),Han(Bayannaoer),Han(Yikezhao) and Oroqen.
