Abstract

There are great distinction between the East and West philosophy regarding the relationship of philosophy and linguistics. In western philosophy, no attention was paid to the problem of linguistics, no matter in the ancient ontology, epistemology, the modern scientism or humanism. Until the philosophical turn in modern time, the linguistic problems were recognized. However,languages received special attentions from the classical philosophy since ancient china, Such as the philosophy in Pre-Qin period and the subsequent ideas of “Shen Cha Min Hao(深察名号) by Dong Zhong-shu in Han dynasty. This difference from western philosophy illustrates the humanistic features and ethical meaning of Chinese linguistic philosophy.
