THE TANGLE OF POETRY AND LITERATURE HISTORY: On Wen Yiduo’s Poetic Style Having an Effect on His Study on the Literature History

In this article, the author considers Wen Yiduo as a poet and literature historian, arguing that Wen’s unique poetic style has an effect on his study on literature history and concluding the gains and losses caused by it. It thinks that Wen has double personalities of poet and scholar which brings his study on literature history the characteristics of strong feelings, rich and colorful imagination, creativity as well as subjectivity and the casual style, which leads to Wen’s uncompleted study on literature history.
