Studies on Carotid Artery Atherosclerosis and Cerebral Ischemic Diseases with Color Doppler Ultrasound

Objective To evaluate the value of carotid artery atherosclerosis and the ischemic cerebrovascular diseases with color doppler ultrasound.Methods The carotid arteries of 99 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases were measured with color doppler ultrasound,and 30 normal cases were selected as the contrast group.Results The IMT and the carotid stenosis occurrence rate which was caused by the soft and admixture plaques of the ischemic cerebrovascular group were higher than that of the normal group(P0.05);There were obvious differences in the carotid arteries' hemodynamic parameters with the degree of carotid stenosis higher more than 50 percent.Conclusion With the color doppler ultrasound,we can observe the occurrence and development of carotid artery atherosclerosis at early stage.
