Zhu Xi and the Revival of Bailudong Academy

This paper discusses Zhu Xi's activities when he was the governor in Nankang State, taking the view that influence was comparatively small, from the single achievement of restoration, which was a very important and outstanding section in South Song academy development. But it did not by any means take the leading role either as the Neo-Confucian academy or North Song academy. From the long run, the fame of Bailudong Academy's restoration was so great. Its symbolic meaning was greater than history itself, because it's Zhu Xi's intervention and his Creed that made it a powerful symbol of the Neo-Confucian academy.
