Abstract

Objective To test the effect of Jiangsuan tables on serum lipids in rats fed with high fat diet. Methods The rats were assigned into four groups, the high-fat diet control group, and low, middle and high dose experimental groups. The rats in the three different dose groups were administered with wolfberry capsules prepared with plant oil through gastric feeding at doses of 0.11,0.22 and 0.66 g/kg.bw respectively;and the control group received only distilled water.Thirty days thereafter, serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) were assessed and compared. Results Compared with the control group, the 0.11 g/kg.bw dose groups had significantly reduced serum TC and TG(P0.05),while the other dose groups showed no obvious effect on HDL-C level(P0.05).Conclusion Jiangsuan tables have a certain regulation action on blood-fat.
