Experimental Study of Wumo Decoction on Improving Gastric Juice Excretion and Protecting Gastric Mucosa in Rats

Abstract
ObjectiveTo study the effects of Wumo Decoction on gastric juice excretion and gastric mucosa.MethodsThe gastric ulcer was induced by Skay method and total quantity of gastric juice excretion,total acidity in Protectctgon stomach,activity of pepsin,injury index,incidence rate of ulcer in rats were observed after administering Wumo Decoction,Smecta,Sodium Chloride,to the ulcer rats.ResultsWumo Decoction and Smecta both could increase the rat's secretion of gastric juice(P0.01),Wumo Decoction could highly promote secretion of gastric acid,obviously inhibit activity of pepsin(P0.01),Smecta tad on effect on gastric acid and activity of pepsin(P0.05)Wumo Decoction and Smecta both could lower incidence rate of gastric injury in the Shay's rat,both could protect the rat's injury of gastric mucous membrane,compared with Smecta.The proteetive effect of Wumo Decoction on gastric mucous membrane was much better.ConclusionWumo Decoction can promote secretion of gastric acid、inhibit activity of pepsin、protect gastric mucous membrane,its mechanism could be concerned with stimulating vagus nerve and increasing gastric mucosal blood flow.
