Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of p14 and p57 protein in bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods: The expressions of p14 and p57 protein were detected in 62 bladder carcinoma tissues and 20 control bladder tissues by immunohistochemical assay. Results:The positive rate of p14 protein in BTCC was 25.8%,which was significant lower than 95.0% in control bladder tissues(P0.001).The expression of p14 protein was correlated remarkably with both tumor grade and stage. The positive rate of p57 protein in BTCC was 41.9%,which was significant lower than 100% in control bladder tissues(P0.001).The expression of p57 protein was correlated remarkably with tumor grade and stage. The expression of p14 gene was no correlated with p57 gene expression(P=0.541).Conclusions:p14 and p57 genes may play different roles in bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
